Jaime/Brienne Fic Recs

I've compiled a list of my fic recommendations for Jaime/Brienne. A few caveats: I have read the books, so these fics may be both Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire spoiler-ridden; I much prefer longfic, so many of these are multi-chapter and very few are one-shots, just per my tastes; and finally, I don't read many AUs for this fandom, so don't expect it to be AU heavy.

Also, most (read:all) of these will have explicit sexual and violent content, so they are strictly for those of age. Will add as necessary.

The Gentlest Schism by SandwichesYumYum This fic is so fiercely moving that I can't think of another in its league for slow-paced, canon-compliant Jaime/Brienne endgame. It's a WIP, being reposted gradually, but it's worth the wait. One of the single best fics I've read, and certainly one of the best for this ship.

Bound Together by Nurdles and almostabeauty Okay, so I said no AUs... this is one of my few exceptions. A recent discovery, this fic is quickly worming its way into my heart (read:pants) and comes from two of my favorite Jaime/Brienne fic writers. It's naughty, but oh so fun and sweet too. The honesty that comes with Brienne and Jaime's anonymity is refreshing. WIP.

Taking the Silver by Nurdles This is another WIP, but is pretty far along. This fic has some really interesting dynamics between Cersei and Brienne because of the latter's involvement with Jaime. Post ADWD, Jaime/Brienne endgame, good smut, lots of characters not just J/B. Nurdles is awesome.

Honor Thy Regard by SigilBroken GOOD GOD This is the best thing I have ever read. So freaking amazing. It's almost painful to read this -- the writer captures the nuances of Jaime and Brienne so perfectly. Novel length, nine-part somewhat angsty series, with a slow build and slow burn, and of course, great characterization. It doesn't get much better than this.

The Kiss of Life by igotanobsession This is a medium-length post-ADWD fic, canon compliant and picking up immediately where GRRM leaves off. Well written, restrained, and well constructed, this fic is satisfying and exciting.

Three Nights on the Run by Brienne of Thrace This is another post-ADWD canon continuation, in which Jaime and Brienne must deal with the fallout of their encounter with Lady Stoneheart and the Brotherhood Without Banners. 

The Covering Sky by Rellie Epic WIP that needs to be updated! Really good interactions among Jaime, Cersei, and Brienne. Canon divergent from season 3. This fic is one of the best I've come across, and toes the line between acknowledging the importance of Jaime/Cersei while still shipping him with Brienne. 

To Have and To Hold by Magnetism_bind So I'm breaking my rule. This is an exceptional one shot. It's AU where Jaime marries Brienne when Tywin makes him take a wife. Great smut, lots of pain, really awesome banter between Jaime and Brienne. Overall a great one-shot.

Mercy in You by Miss_M Yes, yes, again. Another one-shot. LOTS OF PAIN on Brienne's end, dealing with living in Cersei's shadow. Miss_M captures their longing and their compatibility so well, and the sex is well written too. The callousness of their banter betrays their true feelings in a realistic way, and it's so them.
